PUPROSE OF THE ROLE:
Our client based in Fourways requires the service of a Jnr Business Analyst to analyse business processes and or business issues to facilitate the implementation of improvements.
Requirements and Specifications
• Develop Business Case which complies with the following:
? Client needs will be accurately identified and agreed upfront
? Content alignment with the client at appropriate intervals
? Timeous delivery
? Accuracy, completeness, comprehensiveness and appropriateness of content
? Appropriate applications of methodologies and templates
? Quality as measured through degree of re-work required
? Recommendations should reflect tangible benefits that can be measured (substance)
• Define Business Requirements which complies with the above as well as:
? Will be fit for purpose
? Will be aligned with scope
• Functional specifications (incl. context diagrams; activity diagrams; sequence diagrams; UML diagrams; entity specifications) which complies with the following:
- Aligned with scope
- Appropriate level of detail
- Accuracy of content
- Involvement of appropriate stakeholders
- Appropriate application of methodologies / tools and templates
- Timeous delivery
- Feedback and alignment at appropriate intervals
- Client needs will be accurately identified and agreed upfront
- Content of document will be audience appropriate (client & project team)
- Quality as measured through degree of re-work required and missed requirements indicated through testing
- Project artefacts / Requirement traceability
Will facilitate customer understanding of the "to-be" (conceptual design; scenario walk through)
• Conduct WBS (scoping) which will reflect a:
- clear understanding of required deliverables
- realistic and comprehensive breakdown of tasks and time requirements
• Ensure actual attainment against WBS
Analysis
• Conduct an As-is analysis which complies with the following:
- Aligned with scope
- Appropriate level of detail
- Accuracy of content
- Involvement of appropriate stakeholders
- Appropriate application of methodologies / tools and templates
- Timeous delivery
- Presentation which is easily understood by reader
- Quality as measured through degree of re-work required
- Feedback and alignment at appropriate intervals
- Client needs will be accurately identified and agreed upfront
• Conduct a To-be analysis which complies with the above as well as:
- Recommendations should reflect tangible benefits that can be measured (substance)
- Will ensure that audience understand what they are going to get (what functional specifications are going to reflect)
• Business Change impact Assessments:
- Provide input to change management stream of impacts to be addressed
• Testing Support
- Provide clarification for test strategy/plan
- Review test strategy/plan framework
- Provide input into test cases
- Ensure accessibility and availability, as well as keeping to turn-around times
- Provide effective knowledge transfer to testers
• Training material - QA and assistance
- Ensure accessibility and availability, as well as keeping to turn-around times
- Provide effective knowledge transfer
• Update WBS (if required) to align with To-Be analysis outcomes to reflect a:
- clear understanding of required deliverables
- realistic and comprehensive breakdown of tasks and time requirements
• Ensure actual attainment against WBS
Business Solution and Process Design
• Business solutions design / Business realisation plans / Transition road maps analysis which complies with the above as well as:
- Recommendations should reflect tangible benefits that can be measured (substance)
• Business process analysis and design (incl. process, procedures documentation; process taxonomies; value chain models; system maps; etc.) which complies with the above as well as:
- Will facilitate customer understanding of the "to-be" (conceptual design; scenario walk through)
• Ensure Business rules integration by noticing gaps between business processes and business rules
• Impact assessment and analysis which complies with the above.
• Business Change impact Assessments:
- Provide input to change management stream of impacts to be addressed
• Testing Support
- Review test strategy/plan
- Provide input into test cases
- Provide clarification
- User facilitation during testing
- Ensure accessibility and availability, as well as keeping to turn-around times
- Provide effective knowledge transfer to testers and business users
• Training material - QA and assistance
- Ensure accessibility and availability, as well as keeping to turn-around times
- Provide effective knowledge transfer
