Job Description A successful South African medical company who have been in the business of saving lifes for over a decade require a BDM to solidify relationships in Africa and source new products.

• Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.

• Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities and distribution channel analysis and development.

• Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.

• Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.

• Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with local business operations. • Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Analyzing current trends and dynamics prior to official launch.

• Helps with local legal requirements and drive cost benefit analysis.

• Excellent administration, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and communication skills.
• Working in a close and confidential environment, liaise with head sales, marketing and business development. • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income to an agreed annual target.

• Need to travel extensively monitoring countries, sub distributors, meetings, tradeshows,…predominately in the SADC (Southern African Development Community) region.

• Leading own appointment settings and generate leads.

• Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities are captured and explored. • Hand over in a structured way to the management team of successful leads.

• Be the representative at industry events and tradeshows.

• Responding to tenders and requests from EXCO. • A thorough understanding of current business processes.

• Effectively interact with other departments including the group marketing manager and national sales manager.

• Ensuring that the company remains proactive and responsive to prospective clients.

The successful person should come from the medical / pharmaceutical industry.
